What are coaxial speakers?
Coaxial loudspeakers are a type of compact loudspeaker design in which sound is produced from a single point of origin vs separate points like with other types such as 2-way speaker systems.
Coaxial speakers (also called simply “coaxials” for short) are very common it vehicle audio systems but are also used in home stereo or professional audio systems as well. Coaxial speakers have an advantage over others as they provide better sound than single-cone speaker drivers while only occupying approximately the same space.
They’re very popular as speaker upgrades because of this and also due to being an affordable way to avoid more difficult and expensive speaker system installation.
